Charge for premium articles and file downloads on your Joomla site using PromptPay, with no payment gateway and no visitor registration. PromptPay Paywall (version 0.4.1) is a Joomla 4 extension package that lets Thai site owners monetize content directly. Visitors pick a plan, scan a PromptPay QR code, upload their transfer slip, and get access once the site owner approves the payment.
Key features
- PromptPay QR checkout. A dynamic QR code with the exact amount is generated for every order. Each open order gets a unique satang suffix (for example 10.01 THB), so you can match every transfer in your banking app.
- No registration needed. Buyers receive an access code that unlocks their purchase on another browser or device. You control how many extra devices a code can unlock.
- Two kinds of plans. Bundle plans unlock everything on the site. This item only plans unlock just one article or one file. Prices, durations (a session or a number of days) and order are managed in a dedicated Plans screen.

- Protected downloads. Files are stored in a private folder and served only to paying visitors. Paywalled text is never sent to search indexers or feeds.
- Ready-made menu items. Add a Plans (pricing) page and a Checkout page from the Joomla menu manager, each with its own title, intro text and “after payment” destination.
- Admin review screen. See every order with its slip image, then approve, reject or revoke access in one click. Get an e-mail through your site’s own Joomla mail settings whenever a slip is uploaded.
- Bilingual. English and Thai language files are included.
How it works
- A visitor reaches a locked section and chooses a plan.
- The checkout page shows a PromptPay QR code with the amount to pay.
- The visitor transfers the money and uploads the slip.
- You check the payment in your banking app and press Approve.
- The checkout page updates automatically and unlocks the content.
Good to know
- Version 0.4.1 uses manual approval. Payments are not verified automatically, so you confirm each one yourself. Slip-verification services and payment gateways may come later.
- If you use Joomla’s page cache or a CDN, exclude pages that contain the shortcodes, plus the Plans and Checkout pages.
- The extension is built for Joomla 4.4 and should be tested on a staging site before going live.
Get it
Download the package from [download link], install it from System > Install > Extensions, then add your PromptPay ID and plans under Components > PromptPay Paywall.
